CAN BEGINNERS ENTER?
Absolutely!
ICONIC is open to dancers of all abilities. You don't need years of competition experience to take part.
Our beginner sections are designed to give newer competitors the opportunity to experience the excitement of performing on a competition floor in a supportive environment.
Your first competition could be the start of something ICONIC.
WHAT AGE CATEGORY DO I ENTER?
Your dancer's age category will depend on the age rules for the specific ICONIC event and category you are entering.
Please check the Categories & Levels section for the age groups available at your chosen event.
NEWBIE- 10&UNDER / 14&UNDER / 15&OVER
BEGINNERS - 4&UNDER / 6&UNDER / 8&UNDER / 10&UNDER /
12&UNDER / 14&UNDER / 16&UNDER / 17+
INTERMEDIATE - 8&UNDER / 10&UNDER / 12&UNDER / 14&UNDER /16&UNDER / 17+

CAN DANCERS ENTER MORE THAN ONE SECTION?
Yes!
Dancers can enter multiple categories where permitted by the competition rules.
For example, a dancer may be able to compete in a Solo, Duo and Team at the same event.
Please check the rules for your particular event before entering.
HOW MANY DANCERS ARE NEEDED FOR A TEAM?
Each team must have a minimum of 5 dancers.
Please check the Categories & Levels page for the minimum and maximum number of dancers allowed for each section.
CAN DANCERS COMPETE IN DIFFERENT TEAMS?
Dancers can perform in ONE team and ONE megacrew.
WHAT MUSIC DO WE NEED?
Regarding music duration and submission requirements:
1. Beginners: Maximum music duration is 2 minutes.
2. Intermediate: Maximum music duration is 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
3. Advanced: Maximum music duration is 3 minutes.
4. Judges evaluate teams based on various criteria such as styles, formations, levels,
costumes, performance, and originality.
5. Team music should be emailed to info@iconicstreetdancecompetitions.co.uk a week
before the event.
6. A copy of the team music must be brought on a USB or Device to the event.
7. Dance teachers or schools are responsible for ensuring that team music is reviewed
before the event day.
CAN WE USE OUR OWN CHOREOGRAPHY?
Yes!
ICONIC celebrates creativity, individuality and performance.
Choreography should be appropriate for the age category and follow all ICONIC competition rules.
WHAT SHOULD DANCERS WEAR?
Costumes and outfits should be appropriate for the dancer's age and suitable for the performance.
We encourage dancers to wear something that allows them to perform confidently and move safely.
WHEN DOES REGISTRATION CLOSE?
Registration deadlines vary depending on the event.
The closing date will be clearly displayed on the individual event page.
This is normally 1 week before.
Some events may reach capacity before the advertised closing date, so we recommend registering as early as possible.
CAN I CHANGE MY ENTRY AFTER REGISTERING?
If you need to make a change to your entry, please contact the ICONIC team as soon as possible. info@iconicstreetdancecompetitions.co.uk
Changes may be possible before the registration deadline, depending on the type of change and the event preparation.
Once entries have been finalised, some changes may no longer be possible.
CAN I ADD A DANCER TO MY TEAM AFTER REGISTERING?
Please contact your teacher/event organiser or the ICONIC team as soon as possible.
Changes to team members may be permitted before entries are finalised, provided the team still meets the relevant category and eligibility rules.
CAN I GET A REFUND IF I CAN'T ATTEND?
Our refund and cancellation policy will depend on the circumstances and the stage of the competition.
Please check the Terms & Conditions before completing your entry.
If a dancer becomes unable to attend, contact the ICONIC team as soon as possible rather than simply missing the event.
CAN SPECTATORS ATTEND?
Yes!
We want competition day to be an experience for the whole dance community.
Friends, family and supporters are welcome to come along and cheer on the dancers, subject to venue capacity and event arrangements.
ARE SPECTATOR TICKETS REQUIRED?
Yes spectator tickets are required, tickets will be available through the relevant event page.

Always check the individual event page before travelling.
WHEN SHOULD DANCERS ARRIVE?
Your event information and timetable will include the recommended arrival time for your category.
Teachers should allow plenty of time for:

Parking

Registration/check-in

Changing

Warm-up
-
Finding the correct area
-
Preparing dancers for their performance
We recommend arriving early rather than rushing in at the last minute!
CAN WE BRING PROPS?
Props may be permitted for certain categories, subject to the ICONIC rules and venue restrictions.
Any props must be safe, appropriate and able to be brought on and removed from the floor within the allocated time.
If you're unsure whether a prop is permitted, ask us before the competition.
WHEN WILL THE TIMETABLE BE RELEASED?
Event timetables will be released once entries have been finalised and the running order has been organised.
We aim to provide teachers with the timetable as early as possible before the event.
Please remember that timetables can sometimes change, so always check the latest version before competition day.
WHERE WILL I FIND THE TIMETABLE?
The latest timetable will be available through the relevant ICONIC event information.
Teachers will be notified when important event information is released. You will find this on our socials
WILL DANCERS RECEIVE TROPHIES OR AWARDS?
Yes!
ICONIC competitions will include awards and trophies for successful dancers, teams and categories.
Specific awards can vary between events, so check the individual event information for details.
We also aim to recognise dancers with special awards and judges' choices throughout our competitions.
DO TEACHERS NEED TO REGISTER THEIR DANCE SCHOOL?
Dance schools should create/register their school through the ICONIC registration system before submitting entries.
This allows us to keep all of your dancers, teams and competition entries together.
WILL TEACHERS RECEIVE AN EVENT PACK?
Yes.
Registered dance schools will receive the relevant event information, including important details such as:

IS ICONIC CHILD-SAFE?
The safety and wellbeing of dancers is extremely important to us.
ICONIC events operate with safeguarding procedures designed to protect children and young people participating in our competitions.
All teachers, dancers, parents, spectators and event staff are expected to follow our Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.
CAN PARENTS TAKE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS?
Photography and filming arrangements may vary depending on the venue and event.
Please follow all ICONIC photography and filming guidance on the day.
Where professional event photography or video is available, details will be provided to schools and spectators.
