TERMS & CONDITIONS

Welcome to ICONIC Street Dance Competitions. By entering an ICONIC event, purchasing a ticket, registering a dancer or team, or attending an ICONIC event, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions, together with the competition rules and event-specific information provided by ICONIC.

These Terms & Conditions apply to dancers, dance schools, teachers, parents/guardians, spectators and other attendees.

1. ENTERING AN ICONIC COMPETITION

1.1 All competition entries must be completed through the official ICONIC Street Dance Competitions registration system.

1.2 By submitting an entry, the person completing the registration confirms that the information provided is accurate and complete.

1.3 Dancers must compete in the correct age group and appropriate ability level for the category entered.

1.4 ICONIC reserves the right to move or remove an entry where it is identified that a dancer has been entered into an incorrect age or ability category.

1.5 Teachers, dance schools, parents/guardians and dancers are responsible for checking the competition rules before submitting an entry.

1.6 Entry requirements may differ between categories. Competitors must ensure that they meet the requirements applicable to their chosen category.

2. AGE CATEGORIES & ABILITY LEVELS

ICONIC offers different age groups and ability levels across its competition categories.

The available levels include:

Newbie
Beginner
Intermediate
Advanced

The specific age groups available vary depending on the category.

The current 2026 information pack provides the following solo age divisions:

Newbie: 10 & Under / 14 & Under / 15 & Over

Beginner: 4 & Under / 6 & Under / 8 & Under / 10 & Under / 12 & Under / 14 & Under / 16 & Under / 17+

Intermediate: 8 & Under / 10 & Under / 12 & Under / 14 & Under / 16 & Under / 17+

Advanced: 10 & Under / 12 & Under / 14 & Under / 16 & Under / 17+

The applicable categories and age groups should always be checked against the information provided for the specific event.

3. NEWBIE CATEGORY

3.1 The Newbie category is intended for dancers who have never competed in a street dance competition.

3.2 Newbie dancers are expected to demonstrate a basic understanding of street dance fundamentals, including simple moves, grooves and transitions.

3.3 Dancers who have previously competed in a street dance competition should not enter the Newbie category.

3.4 ICONIC reserves the right to move or disqualify an entry where it becomes apparent that the dancer does not meet the Newbie eligibility requirements.

4. SOLO COMPETITION RULES

4.1 Dancers may participate in only one solo category and one duo category.

4.2 Dancers may compete in only one solo age category.

4.3 Dancers must wear their allocated competition number visibly so that it can be identified by the judges.

4.4 Dancers must compete in the appropriate skill level.

4.5 Teachers competing as dancers must compete in the Advanced category.

4.6 Unless otherwise specified by ICONIC, dancers perform simultaneously on the competition floor.

4.7 Advanced dancers may be given individual solo spots.

4.8 Music selection for solo categories is random, with music ranging from approximately 90–140 BPM.

4.9 Dancers must remain within their designated space and must not travel around the competition floor.

4.10 Solo placements are awarded from 1st to 5th place in each category.

4.11 Some categories may require call backs if missed we are not always able to re do category.

5. DUO COMPETITION RULES

5.1 Dancers may participate in only one duo category.

5.2 Both dancers must compete in the correct age category.

5.3 A duo's age category is determined by the oldest partner.

5.4 Dancers may compete in only one duo age category.

5.5 Only one competitor should wear a competition number visible to the judges.

5.6 Dancers must remain within their designated competition space.

5.7 Advanced dancers may be given individual spots.

The complete running format and any event-specific requirements will be communicated by ICONIC before the relevant competition.

6. TEAM COMPETITION RULES

6.1 Dancers may participate in one team and one MegaCrew category.

6.2 Teams must be registered online through the ICONIC System.

6.3 Team registration must be completed at least two weeks before the event.

6.4 Each team must contain a minimum of 5 dancers.

6.5 Teams must compete in the appropriate age category.

6.6 A team may include dancers who are older or younger than the selected age category, subject to the following requirement:

No more than 25% of dancers may be outside the selected age category.
At least 75% of dancers must fall within the correct age category.

6.7 Teams perform to their own music.

6.8 Dancers must remain within the designated competition floor area, which will be clearly marked at each event.

7. MEGACREWS

7.1 MegaCrews may consist of a mixture of ages and abilities.

7.2 MegaCrews may contain 15–50 dancers.

7.3 MegaCrew music has a maximum duration of 3 minutes.

7.4 Dancers competing in a MegaCrew may also participate in a normal team.

7.5 MegaCrew entries must comply with any event-specific registration requirements communicated by ICONIC.

8. TEAM MUSIC

8.1 Maximum team music durations are:

Beginner: 2 minutes
Intermediate: 2 minutes 30 seconds
Advanced: 3 minutes

8.2 Team music must be emailed to:

info@iconicstreetdancecompetitions.co.uk

8.3 Team music should be submitted one week before the event.

8.4 A backup copy of the music must also be brought to the event on a USB or suitable device.

8.5 Dance teachers and/or dance schools are responsible for checking their music before competition day.

8.6 ICONIC cannot be held responsible for problems caused by music that has not been correctly submitted, checked or brought as a backup.

9. JUDGING

9.1 All performances will be judged by the appointed ICONIC judging panel.

9.2 Judges may consider a range of criteria, including:

Performance
Energy and stage presence
Execution and technique
Formations
Spacing
Level changes
Musicality
Musical interpretation
Creativity
Originality
Variety
Complexity

These criteria are set out in the ICONIC Information Pack.

9.3 For teams, judges may also consider styles, formations, levels, costumes, performance and originality.

9.4 Judges may provide constructive feedback intended to help dancers and teams develop their skills and performances.

9.5 Judging decisions are final.

10. BATTLES

10.1 Battles will operate as an open round in which judges select four dancers to compete.

10.2 Two battle categories will be created depending on the ages and abilities represented on the day.

10.3 Battle judging may consider:

Energy and stamina
Versatility
Creativity and originality
Adaptability
Stage presence and confidence
Respect and sportsmanship

10.4 Dancers participating in battles must follow all instructions given by the judges and ICONIC event team.

11. CONDUCT & SPORTSMANSHIP

ICONIC is committed to creating a positive, respectful and inclusive competition environment.

All participants and attendees are expected to:

Treat dancers, judges, teachers, staff and spectators with respect.
Demonstrate good sportsmanship.
Support and encourage fellow competitors.
Maintain a professional attitude.
Compete fairly and honestly.
Enter the correct age and ability category.
Prioritise safety.
Follow instructions from ICONIC staff.
Follow competition rules and guidelines.
Accept constructive feedback appropriately.
Use social media responsibly.
Report concerns or inappropriate behaviour to event staff.

These expectations reflect the Code of Conduct contained within the ICONIC Information Pack.

ICONIC reserves the right to take appropriate action where behaviour is considered unacceptable or contrary to these Terms & Conditions.

12. PARENTS & GUARDIANS

12.1 Parents and guardians are expected to support their child's participation positively and respectfully.

12.2 Parents/guardians of underage participants should ensure that appropriate adult supervision is maintained throughout the competition.

12.3 Parents, guardians and spectators must follow venue rules and all reasonable instructions given by ICONIC staff.

12.4 Any behaviour that negatively affects dancers, judges, staff or other attendees may result in the individual being asked to leave the venue.

13. PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY

13.1 ICONIC events may have designated photographers and videographers present.

13.2 Participants and attendees should be aware that photographs and video footage may be captured during the event.

13.3 Images and performances may be used for promotional purposes by ICONIC Street Dance Competitions, as stated in the Information Pack.

13.4 Only one person from each school may film their team or MegaCrew from behind the judges.

13.5 Other people should remain seated while filming is taking place so that views are not obstructed.

14. TICKETS & EVENT ACCESS

14.1 Current 2026 ticket prices are:

Dancer: £22
Spectator: £21
Child spectator aged 3–5: £5

14.2 Teachers can collect their wristbands from the designated desk on the day.

14.3 Spectator seating is allocated seating.

14.4 Allocated seating applies to spectators only.

14.5 Ticket information, prices and arrangements may vary between events. The information supplied for the relevant event should always be checked before attending.

15. TEACHER TICKET COMMISSION

15.1 ICONIC currently offers £1 commission back on each ticket sold by participating schools/teachers, as set out in the 2026 Information Pack.

15.2 Any requirements or deadlines relating to commission payments will be communicated to participating schools.

16. REGISTRATION DEADLINES

16.1 Specific registration deadlines will be communicated for each event.

16.2 Team registrations must be completed at least two weeks before the event.

16.3 Team music must be submitted one week before the event.

16.4 ICONIC may not be able to accept late entries or late music submissions.

17. EVENT CANCELLATION, POSTPONEMENT & CHANGES

17.1 ICONIC Street Dance Competitions will make reasonable efforts to deliver each event as advertised. However, circumstances outside our reasonable control may require an event to be changed, postponed or cancelled.

17.2 Circumstances may include, but are not limited to:

Venue closure or unavailability
Severe weather
Fire, flood or other emergency
Government restrictions
Public health emergencies
Power failure
Serious safety concerns
Industrial action
Failure of essential venue services
Other circumstances beyond ICONIC's reasonable control

17.3 ICONIC may make reasonable changes to an event where necessary, including changes to:

Venue
Timetable
Running order
Judges
Hosts
DJs
Categories
Performance arrangements
Seating arrangements
Event timings

17.4 Where reasonably possible, ICONIC will notify registered schools and ticket holders of significant changes as soon as possible.

17.5 If an event is postponed, ICONIC may offer registered participants and ticket holders the option to transfer their booking to the rearranged date, subject to the arrangements communicated for that event.

17.6 If an event is cancelled and ICONIC is unable to provide a suitable alternative date, any refund or alternative arrangement will be dealt with in accordance with the event's applicable cancellation policy.

19. REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

COMPETITION ENTRIES

19.1 Once a competition entry has been submitted and payment has been made, the entry is considered confirmed.

19.2 If a dancer, duo, team or MegaCrew withdraws voluntarily, ICONIC's refund policy for that particular event will apply.

19.3 Where a dancer is unable to participate because of illness, injury or another unforeseen circumstance, the teacher, school or parent/guardian should contact ICONIC as soon as reasonably possible.

19.4 ICONIC will consider requests for changes or refunds on a case-by-case basis where circumstances justify this, but refunds are not guaranteed unless required by law or specifically stated for the relevant event.

SPECTATOR TICKETS

19.5 Spectator ticket refunds will be dealt with in accordance with the ticket terms provided at the time of purchase.

19.6 Where an event is cancelled by ICONIC, any applicable refund arrangements will be communicated to ticket holders.

19.7 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions removes or limits any statutory consumer rights that apply.

20. COMPETITOR WITHDRAWAL, ILLNESS & INJURY

20.1 If a dancer becomes ill or injured before an event, the responsible teacher, parent/guardian or school should notify ICONIC as soon as possible.

20.2 Dancers should not participate if they are unwell or injured to the extent that participation could reasonably put them or others at risk.

20.3 ICONIC may refuse participation where event staff reasonably believe that a dancer is not fit or safe to participate.

20.4 ICONIC reserves the right to stop a performance where there is an immediate safety concern.

20.5 Any decision made by ICONIC event staff for immediate safety reasons will be made with the welfare of participants in mind.

21. LIABILITY & RESPONSIBILITY

21.1 ICONIC will take reasonable steps to organise and operate its competitions safely and professionally.

21.2 Participants, parents/guardians, teachers and spectators are responsible for taking reasonable care of themselves and others and for following venue and ICONIC safety instructions.

21.3 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

21.4 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions removes or limits a consumer's statutory rights.

21.5 ICONIC will not be responsible for loss or damage that:

Was not caused by ICONIC's breach of contract or negligence;
Was not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was entered into; or
Results from circumstances outside ICONIC's reasonable control.

21.6 ICONIC is not responsible for personal belongings that are lost, stolen or damaged at an event where this is not caused by ICONIC's negligence or breach of legal duty.

21.7 Participants remain responsible for their own personal belongings, costumes, equipment and devices.

21.8 Teachers, parents/guardians and participants should ensure that any valuables are appropriately secured.

22. INSURANCE

22.1 ICONIC will maintain appropriate business and event insurance relevant to its activities.

22.2 Dance schools, teachers and other organisations entering dancers are responsible for ensuring that they have any insurance appropriate to their own activities and responsibilities.

22.3 Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that participants are appropriately covered where they choose to arrange additional personal insurance.

22.4 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions requires a participant to waive any legal right or protection.

23. SAFEGUARDING & CHILD PROTECTION

23.1 ICONIC recognises that many participants are children and young people and is committed to providing a safe, respectful and positive environment.

23.2 ICONIC expects all adults involved in an event, including teachers, parents, guardians, spectators, judges, staff and contractors, to behave appropriately around children.

23.3 Any safeguarding concern should be reported immediately to the designated ICONIC event staff member or safeguarding lead.

23.4 ICONIC will take safeguarding concerns seriously and will respond in accordance with its safeguarding procedures.

23.5 ICONIC may take appropriate action where an individual's behaviour presents a safeguarding concern or creates a risk to children or other attendees.

23.6 Teachers and dance schools remain responsible for appropriate supervision and safeguarding arrangements for the dancers in their care.

23.7 Parents and guardians remain responsible for their children when attending an ICONIC event unless responsibility has specifically been accepted by another appropriate adult or organisation.

25. PERSONAL DATA & PRIVACY

25.1 ICONIC will collect and use personal information necessary to administer competitions, including registration, event organisation, communication and results.

25.2 Personal information may include, where relevant:

Name
Date of birth/age information
Dance school
Teacher information
Parent/guardian contact information
Competition entries
Results
Payment information
Emergency information where required
Photography/video information
Other information necessary to administer the event

25.3 ICONIC will process personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.

25.4 ICONIC will only use personal information for appropriate and lawful purposes.

25.5 Personal information will not be retained indefinitely. ICONIC will retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or where retention is required by law.

25.6 Individuals have rights in relation to their personal information, subject to applicable legal exceptions.

25.7 Further information about how ICONIC processes personal information will be provided in the ICONIC Privacy Policy.

The ICO confirms that children have data protection rights and that privacy information should be clear, accessible and understandable. (ICO)

26. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

26.1 Where ICONIC wishes to send marketing communications, it will do so in accordance with applicable data protection and electronic marketing requirements.

26.2 Customers may be provided with the opportunity to opt out of marketing communications.

26.3 Opting out of marketing communications will not prevent ICONIC from sending essential information relating to an event or booking where that information is necessary to administer the service.

27. SAFEGUARDING PHOTOGRAPHY & DATA

Where a parent/guardian informs ICONIC that a child has a specific safeguarding concern relating to photography, video or publication of their image, ICONIC should be informed before the event wherever possible.

ICONIC will consider the information provided and take reasonable steps within its control to follow the applicable safeguarding arrangements.

This is particularly important because safeguarding considerations can affect whether and how children's images should be used. (ICO)

28. EVENT VENUES

28.1 ICONIC events may take place at different venues.

28.2 All attendees must comply with the rules and requirements of the venue.

28.3 Venue-specific requirements may include:

Fire safety
Capacity limits
Access arrangements
Seating requirements
Photography restrictions
Food and drink restrictions
Parking arrangements
Accessibility arrangements

28.4 Where ICONIC's event requirements conflict with a venue's safety requirements, the venue's safety requirements will take priority.

29. ACCESSIBILITY

ICONIC wants its events to be accessible wherever reasonably possible.

29.1 If a dancer, parent, guardian or spectator has an accessibility requirement, they should contact ICONIC before the event so that reasonable arrangements can be considered.

29.2 Accessibility arrangements may vary depending on the venue.

29.3 Venue accessibility information will be provided where available.

30. COMPLAINTS & CONCERNS

30.1 We want any concerns to be raised with us so that we have an opportunity to address them.

30.2 Complaints should be sent to:

30.4 Where appropriate, ICONIC will investigate the concern and respond within a reasonable period.

30.5 Safeguarding concerns should be raised immediately with the event safeguarding lead rather than waiting for the standard complaints process.

31. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS & CONDITIONS

31.1 ICONIC may update these Terms & Conditions where reasonably necessary to reflect changes to its competitions, procedures, legal requirements or services.

31.2 The current version will be published on the ICONIC website.

31.3 Changes will not be used to remove or reduce rights that have already accrued under a completed booking unless permitted by law.

32. GOVERNING LAW

32.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the law applicable in England and Wales, unless another legal jurisdiction applies to a particular customer or transaction by mandatory law.

32.2 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions prevents a consumer from exercising any legal rights available to them.

33. ACCEPTANCE

By completing an ICONIC competition registration, purchasing a ticket or attending an ICONIC event, you confirm that you have had an opportunity to read and understand the applicable Terms & Conditions and event rules.

For participants under 18, the parent/guardian and/or responsible dance school should ensure that the participant is aware of the relevant requirements.
